for phase velocity maps that include azimuthal anisotropy. It was found that the fast axis of azimuthal anisotropy closely matches the magnetic lineations from aeromagnetic data, and where the magnetic signature weakens in the presence of thicker sediment beneath the Murray Basin, the fast axis of anisotropy becomes strongly curved and traces out a semi-circular geometry with a radius of 200–250 km. This is regarded as supporting evidence for the oroclinal model of Moresi et al. (2014).
