There are many dos and don’ts in Thailand that visitors need to know. About dress, it depends on where you live. In the countryside people wear sarongs etc but in the city they dress like westerners- it is considered rude to show too much of your body. When people give gifts it is considered impolite to not take the gift or try to give it back. A very ‘Thai’ special expression is the ‘wai’ where people put their palms together- there are many ways to ‘wai’ people with different levels of sincerity- it is important for visitors to know this.
