Recently, with the development of molecular techniques,
polymerase chain reaction (PCR) has become an
important tool for detecting pathogenic microorganisms in
pork [7]. The development of PCR-based methods,
including multiplex PCR (m-PCR), have greatly improved
the sensitivity, specificity and speed of detecting microorganisms
[8]. m-PCR is able to amplify multiplex targets by
using several sets of target specific or degenerated primers
in a single tube [9]. Moreover, some of these techniques
have been accepted as standard methods for testing the
microbial contamination of meat [10].
