and surfactant liquid–liquid phase separation
(Yazdi, 2011), are nanostructured liquids made up of threedimensional
aggregates of amphiphilic compounds. SUPRASs are
generated through self-assembly processes, induced by changes
in the environmental conditions of aqueous or hydroorganic solutions
of the amphiphile (e.g. pH modification, salt addition, presence
of a nonsolvent for the amphiphile, etc.). Self-assembly
causes the spontaneous separation of an amphiphile-rich liquid
phase from the bulk solution.
