studied the exposure based on surveillance
of retail foods in Japan. The exposure to FBs in different
age groups, including young children (1e6 years old), older children
(7e14 years old), adolescents (15e19 years old), was simulated.
The assessment for FBs in each age group revealed that the
highest exposure occurred in toddlers and children, but in all cases
the percentage of the PMTDI was less than 10%.
A diet study of children's food was carried out in the
Netherlands. FB1 was detected in 28% of the samples. The analytical
results were used to estimate levels of daily intake. The estimated
exposure to FBs was 28 ng/kg bw/day, well below the corresponding
tolerable daily intakes
