5.2. Animal experiment
Female 6 week e old specific pathogen free A/J mice (SLC, Shizuoka,
Japan) were acclimatized to standard laboratory conditions
of free access to rodent chow and water.
Before S. suis infection, mice were kept for 1 week. Acute alcoholism
was modified and developed [21]. Four hundred micro litter
of 20% ethanol was administrated by oral rout using a gastric sonde
(Fuchigami Co., Kyoto, Japan) and, after incubated for 3 h, same
volume and concentration of ethanol was administrated again. At
3 h later, 200 ml of 1.0 108 CFU S. suis was oral administrated
