ABSTRACT
The purposes of this study were three folds : to investigate the efficiency of sight word approach
with picture association techniques to investigate and compare the reading efficiency of learning
disabled children before and after using sight word approach with picture association techniques.
The subjects were 6 learning disabled children in level 1 at Ban Dong Kheng School,
Khon Kaen, province in the second semester of the 2006 academic year. The study continued for
40 sessions 8 weeks. Each session took 50 minutes, 5 times a week.
The Reading ability test, constructed by the researcher, was used in the analysis. The pretest
and posttest scores were analyzed by using Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Singned Ranks Test.
The findings of this study were as follows :
1. The efficiency of sight word approach with picture association techniques was established
at 88.61/90.41
2. The reading ability of the learning disabled children by using sight word approach package
was at good level.
3. The comparison of the pretest and posttest scores yielded significant difference at .05 level.
The posttest scores increased.
