Good night Yuva.
I think we have debated the name thing long enough. Even Brooke says my name is too short for a
nickname. And as long as no one tries to call me Randal or Randolph I will be okay. Both Randal and
Randolph are the so called proper names for Randy. My mother did not like either of them. So she
named me Randy. And oh the fights I use to have with teachers over that. Many of my teachers insisted
my proper name had to be Randal or Randolph. So I frequently had to bring in my birth certificate
to show all those teachers my name really is Randy. Looking back on it now, I should have been more
respectful to my teachers. I was not really bad. I just would not answer them unless they called me Randy.
Brooke and I both ordered the pork enchiladas at a little place we discovered by our bank. The place gets
a fair amount of business and is kind of loud. But the food is the most acceptable Mexican food I have
found in Colorado. And I will admit to liking real Mexican food. Most places here at least do not spice
their food very well. Of course I may be biased more so by my experiences in southern California and
Texas. There is a lot of good Mexican food there.
Overall yesterday was a very good birthday. I had a nice voice recording from you, ecards from you and
Meaw. And a nice dinner with Brooke. Certainly one of the better birthdays from recent memory.
The government is back to saying Martial Law is good for tourism. They feel it adds a level of security
not otherwise found in Thailand. It is an interesting thought and concept. They could accomplish the same
thing by cracking down on corruption within the Police forces and increasing the number of police
patrols in popular tourist areas. However, until they can put those ideas in place, the Martial Law comment
would seem appropriate. It also seems there is an outcry over how soap operas in Thailand seem to be
romanticizing rape. Or at least that is the accusation. Since I do not see soap operas in Thailand, I will not
comment on it. This particular article came out of an Indian news agency. So perhaps there is a bias there
I have not heard of or understand.
Pleasant dreams and sleep well. I think of you always.
Hugs & Kisses.
Randy
