To the best of our knowledge, this is the first ever study on TQM in primary and secondary education in Mauritius at the national level. As there are no studies with which to compare the findings of the present study, they are certainly worth exploring in further studies. Future research can improve upon the findings of the present study by using larger samples of principals and raters other than principals, such as deputy principals, heads of year group, heads of department, teachers, students and parents. This type of research can potentially triangulate the findings of the present study, provide more comprehensive findings about successful school leadership practices and offer a richer and more accurate description of leadership reality in Mauritius.
