Many microorganisms can attack and kill nematodes through diverse processes such as capturing, parasitizing, and producing toxins and enzymes. Nematophagous fungi,a group of natural enemies of nematodes, can be divided into
four main groups: nematode-trapping fungi, endoparasitic fungi, opportunistic fungi, and toxin-producing fungi
(Siddiqui and Mahmood 1996; Zhang et al. 2011; Moosavi and Zare 2012). Critical events during the process of nematophagous fungal infection are as follows: cuticle penetration,nematode immobilization, and fungal invasion and
digestion (Tunlid et al. 1991).
