Gamma-ray (also written as γ-ray) is an electromagnetic wave.It is at the small wavelength end of the electromagnetic spectrum.Gamma-rays have frequencies greater than about 〖10〗^18cycles per second, or hertz (Hz), and wavelengths of 〖10〗^(−13 )−〖10〗^(−17). Gamma-ray are a form of electromagnetic radiation, as are radio waves, infrared radiation, ultraviolet radiation, X-rays and microwaves. Gamma-rays can be used to treat cancer, and gamma-ray bursts are studied by astronomers.
