From a tourist point of view, the Union Square (Piaţa Unirii) is not the most valuable sight they can include in their sightseeing tours. Yet, the Union Square is the most central and one of the largest (if not the largest even) public square of the capital. At the same time, it is a major infrastructural hub of the city, both in terms of public surface public transport and underground transport.
The Unirea Shopping Center might be deemed the most rewarding source of tourist gratification. It is both the most imposing building and the most complete shopping opportunity in the area. On top of that, the Manuc’s Inn (Hanul lui Manuc) is also located here. The small park pegged out by artesian wells is ideal for relaxation. Locals know that, which is why visitors can easily notice a consistent crowd of people relaxing and cooling on the benches during the hot summer days.
