In relation to socio-demographic characteristics,
the pregnant women were predominantly
young: 38% were aged between 22 and 26 years
old (Table 1). The highest age was 39 years old,
with a mean of 28.6 years (±SD 5.63). Most of the
participants (42.9%) had from zero to seven years
of schooling. Only one participant graduated from
college, thus the sample was characterized as having
a low educational level.
In regard to marital status, 21 (50.0%) participants
reported having a partner, that is, they
were either married or cohabitate. Additionally,
more than half of the respondents (52.4%) already
had children.
