1. At a minimum, type your name, and serial number into the designated fields, and then click on the Activate over Internet button. If the activation works, you will see a message indicating that Activation was successful.
2. There are a few reasons why the Activate over Internet button would return an error or failure message.
a. You might have a firewall blocking access to our activation server. Windows XP SP2 has a built in firewall. You can open the Security Center control panel and temporarily disable the firewall and then try the Activate over Internet option again.
b. You might not have an Internet connection.
c. Our activation server might be down or temporarily busy.
d. The connection to our server may have had an intermittent problem.
3. If for any reason you get an error that the Activate over Internet option did not work, we recommend that you try a second time. If that fails, you can try the Activate via Phone/Fax/Email button to get an Activation code that you can manually enter to activate your software. Click on the Activate via Phone/Fax/Email button. This will open a page that gives you the option to Activate via Phone, Fax or Email. Clicking on the Activate via Email or Activate via Phone/Fax button will open a web page form that indicates your verification code. Fill out the form and email, fax or phone in all of that information including the verification code. That will enable us to provide you with an activation code specific to the computer you are on.
4. When you receive an activation code, type (or copy and paste) it into the activation code field at the bottom of this screen, and then click on the “Activate” button at the bottom of the screen to activate the product.
If you choose not to activate now (or are unable to because of a firewall or lack of an Internet connection) you will receive a number of free launches of the product before activation is required.
