If there were a "Mr. Consistency" award in professional cycling, Peter Sagan would win by a landslide. He's finished on the podium of some of the most illustrious one-day races on the calendar, and his steady string of second- and third-place finishes at the Tour netted him his fourth straight Green Jersey. Peter, however, is a rider whose scale of success is a bit different than others—he's looking to win every race he enters. The Vuelta will be a chance for Peter to show off his legendary skills, as well as fight for his first overall Points Classification jersey in the Vuelta. His teammate, Rafal Majka, will also be lining up with a bit of an axe to grind. After exploding onto the scene at the 2014 Tour, winning two stages and the overall Mountain's Classification, Rafal was able to snatch up another stage win at this last Tour. He didn’t have quite the same turn of pace as the year prior, though, so this year's mountainous Vuelta route will be the runway Majka needs to showcase the explosive riding that he's become known for.
For three weeks, the world's best riders will navigate the countryside of Spain in search of victory. And if it's anything like the last few years, the racing will be fast, feverish, and beautiful to watch. With one of the most stacked pelotons in recent memory lining up, there'll be no shortage of drama to behold.
