The delineation of land stability aims to preserve soil and conserve the watershed in upland areas against soil erosion and landslides. Areas with above 18% (or 10.2 degrees) of slope can be easily eroded so that any development should be prohibited in a Preservation Zone. It is possible that wide spatial development, infrastructure and small scale building construction can be developed in a Conservation Zone with slope protection works and permission from MNRE regarding EIA.
