Acute toxicity studies
Acute toxicity studies were performed following
OECD guidelines [27]. Alcoholic and aqueous extracts
of Toddalia asiatica roots were orally administered
at doses 300 and 2000 mg/kg to separate groups of
animals. The animals were observed continuously
for 2 h looking for any symptoms of toxicity and /or
death. They remained under observation for a period
of 2 weeks and until the end of the study.
