Problem Statement
Despite the knowledge generated through education research in recent years,
problems with principal leadership style, teacher morale, and student achievement persist
in middle school education. There are many potential contributors to these problems,
among which are teacher competition (Barth, 2006), lack of teacher-to-teacher
collaboration (Ingersoll, 2007), and a lack of collaboration between teachers and
administration (Beatty, 2006). This study contributes to the body of knowledge needed
to address these problems by examining principal leadership style and teacher morale.
