Respect individual perspectives. In the quantitative data, only 46.7% of the participants indicated that they were always accepting of the perspectives of other team members (see Figure C6 in Appendix C). Further, only 33.3% of participants believed that their perspectives were always valued (see Figure C12 in Appendix C). The sense of being valued, recognized, and appreciated by their team members is also echoed in the qualitative data where 37% of the participants wanted team members to respect individual perspectives (see Table 1). One participant expressed that the teams need to work on how they can ―gain skills and techniques that allow for a greater level of acceptance, acknowledgement, and integration of new or different perspectives‖ (S2.13). Another participant noted, ―It can be challenging to integrate these different perspectives‖ (S4.13). Participant I2 suggested that ―all [team members] need to exercise understanding for [another‘s] point of view . . . open up their ears, their minds, and their hearts to try to understand another‘s perspective.‖ Participant S3.10 indicated that there needed to be a ―willingness of each team member to be open to the influence of each other.‖ The focus group participants jointly agreed that respecting individual perspectives directly impacts the team‘s ability to collaborate effectively. One participant mentioned that ―about a month ago someone asked . . . if it was possible to do a job [cross training] for a morning‖ (FG5) and participant FG2 added, ―and, a job shadow would be fun . . . both would help team members understand other teams.‖ Participant FG3 cautioned, ―for those of us that work directly with clients there is . . . client consent and client confidentiality‖ to consider. Participant FG2 wondered, ―If we are all bound by confidentiality . . . why are we worried . . . if we ask, maybe there is a client that would be willing to participate.‖ Participant FG5 replied, ―We need to talk about it . . . maybe there is an alternative, like a day-in-the-life [self-guided] training where team members highlight what they have done in the week‖ Participant FG3 responded, ―Yes, team
