The fact that an anorexic person doesn't want to eat food, doesn't mean they do not know it is good for them. It is just that their desire to be slim is greater than the importance they place on eating food. Once a professional can get them to the point where they appreciate the importance of eating healthily and loving themself and hence making the choice to eat, then they would have been help. We cannot infringing on a person's right to choose by forcing them to eat. We must help them regain the right to choose wisely, rather than forcing them to eat. Forcing them to eat still does not solve the problem of anorexia, it just creates the burden of feeding a person suffering from the condition for another person.
"We should not force feed suffers with anorexia nervosa. AN is a psychological disease with physical symptoms. Force feeding would treat only the symptoms and not the disease itself."
