We used primary and secondary performance indicators to analyse the results. Efficiency, total maintenance cost, and maintenance schedule are our three primary indicators which are used for all experiments. Maintenance cost is a traditional indicator that is widely used to measure maintenance performance (Lofsten 2000). Efficiency is a more comprehensive metric that reveals the effect of production context on maintenance performance. This metric is
specially recommended to investigate the effectiveness of the CBM programmes (Koochaki et al. 2011). Using a maintenance schedule and showing its disturbance (due to a maintenance policy) as an indicator is a new metric that we developed for this paper.
