Thai food is widely known for being hot and spicy since almost all Thai food is cooked with basic ingredients such as garlic, chilies, limejuice, lemon grass and fermented fish sauce or shrimp paste to make it salty. Indeed the Thai cuisine includes some very spicy dishes, however, not all Thai food is that hot. Normally, an authentic Thai meal will include one if not more very spicy dishes, a few dishes that are less hot, and some that are seasoned with only garlic or herbs.
