I'm not really sure if you're referring to the Planned Exit Date or the Expected Job End Date.
The Expected Job End Date as stated by the other responders is used by the Temp Assignment process to automatically
return an employee to their substantive position and insert a termination row into the additional assignment record.
This is reliant on the following supporting configuration:
1. Installation Table - Product Specific page: activate Multiple Jobs Allowed, Auto Suspension and Auto Termination and
2. Application Messaging turned on and the specific message used to support Temp Assignments configured correctly.
In addition, certain conditions must be present on the job data component:
1. An Action / Reason combination of Temp Assignment (TAS) / Temp Assignment (TAS) to initiate a temp assignment,
2. Work Location page: End Job Automatically checked on,
3. An Expected Job End Date and
4. Job Information page: a Duties Type.
To effect the automatic termination of a temporary assignment, you need to run the Reactivation/Termination process.
As with the standard termination functionality, the effective date of the termination is the day the employee is no
longer employed in that employment record (i.e. the date after the last day worked).
The Expected Job End Date will be the day before the termination effective date (i.e. the same as the last day worked
if it was a full termination rather than the end of a temporary assignment).
The Planned Exit date appears on both the Add a POI Relationship and Maintain a Person's POI Reltn pages.
This is not the same as termination in job data as the POI types available to these pages are only those that
do not use Job Data. It is an informational field only.
