Determination of cell composition of cyanobacterial biomass
was carried out by the following methods. Starch concentration
was determined as glucose concentration by dinitrosalicylic
method after hydrolysis of the starch in 40% HClO4 for 2h at room
temperature, for 20min at 100 ◦C. Total photosynthetic pigments
including phycocyanins, chlorophylls and caroteniods were analysed
by extracting into 80% ethanol with heating for 5 min and
sonication for 4 min
