Wine is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented grapes, generally black and white grapes. [There are also wines made from fermenting other fruits or cereals, whose names generally specify their base: fruit wine, rice wine, with some having specific names, but these wine are not drunk with meals.]
There are four types of wine made from grapes
-Red wine
-White wine
-Rose
-Sparkling wine
Red wine
A type of wine made from dark-colored grape varieties. The actual color of the wine can range from intense violet, typical of young wines, through to brick red for mature wines and brown for older red wines. The juice from most purple grapes is greenish-white; the red color comes from anthocyanin pigments present in the skin of the grape.
White wine
A wine whose color can be straw-yellow, yellow-green, or yellow-gold colored. It is produced by the alcoholic fermentation of the non-colored pulp of grapes which may have a white or black skin.
Rose
A type of wine that incorporates some of the color from the grape skins, but not enough to qualify it as a red wine. It may be the oldest known type of wine.
Sparkling wine
Sparkling wine is a wine with significant levels of carbon dioxide in it, making it fizzy. The classic example of a sparkling wine is champagne, which is exclusively produced in the Champagne region of France.

Alcohol is one of the biggest diet busters, but the occasional glass of wine really does the trick to help us de-stress. Plus, a new Harvard study found that middle-aged women who had one alcoholic drink every day were 28 percent more likely to be healthy after age 70. And red wine has been linked to a reduction in heart disease risk and an increase in longevity.
