The maximum estimated reduction of brake thermal
efficiency is in the order of 5.5% (relative to the value
without EGR), observed at 15% EGR for an engine speed
of 1130 rpm and the higher EGR temperature examined.
This is important when considering the fuel penalty
associated with the use of EGR to reduce NOx emissions.
