Acoustic resonance testing (ART) is a method of non-destructive testing that does not have these drawbacks.
ART uses the vibrational characteristics of an object to find defects.
Since changes anywhere in the part will affect the overall vibration of the part, ART is considered a whole-part test. This means that measurements taken in one place can indicate defects anywhere, as opposed to scanning methodologies. It can be done quickly (one second or less) [1] and it can be completely automated and make objective, quantitative judgments, eliminating human error.
ART can be used to find almost
This machine is divided into three parts,
it will send a signal to relay contactor then the Hammer Tapping works immediately. Microphone is need to record the tapping sound and transform to electronic signal for the computer.
This paper presents design and development of a Acoustic Resonance Testing machine which is a Non-Destructive Test (NDT). We have developed a low cost automated inspection system using ART principles.
