On the next screen, participants were then shown a 30-
second Capital One commercial featuring Alec Baldwin
that was pretested to be highly energetic. They were
instructed to watch the entire commercial, during which
time the button to proceed was disabled. Thus, participants
were forced to watch the entire commercial. Afterward, participants
were asked to briefly describe the commercial.
They were then asked to indicate the extent to which the
sponsor’s message made them think about concepts associated
with action on a three-item, seven-point scale
