IFN- (a) and IL-12 (b) production in splenocytes of mice at day 28 of oral
administration (n = 3 in each group) of vaccine, recombinant B. longum group 1;
Parental-Bifd., parental B. longum group 2; and PBS, the PBS group 3. The splenocytes
were cultured with flagellin, Flagellin-pulsing; or without flagellum, No-pulsing.
Each data point represents the average of each group; bars, ±SE. High levels of IFN
and IL-12 were detected in all supernatants of splenocytes cultured with flagellin.
Those levels of splenocytes isolated from group 1 (vaccine) mice were significantly
higher compared with the other groups
