In 1963, a modest collection of scholars met to discuss, in their words, “developments in the ‘no name’ field of public administration.”30 Since then, names have been acquired, and they include “rational choice,” and “political economy.”31 In its more applied node (reviewed in Chapter 12), this literature is often called metropolitan organization or local public economies.
