Their brand new single “Party” was recorded for a digital release that took place on July 7, 2015. This is a K-Pop/electropop song with an appealing light sound and a strong potential of becoming a huge summer hit. As usually, the band focuses on synchronized performance. Upon its release, the song was positively accepted by critics and was complimented by comparison to Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”.
The music video was filmed in cooperation with Thai Airways and five-star Silavadee Pool Spa Resort in Ko Samui, Thailand. The shooting was conducted at the said resort and has a beach as its main and a club as auxiliary set. The girls perform the song while having a dream summer getaway. The video is executed in bright lollipop colours. It collected 4 million views in the first 24 hours. SNSD are the first girl group to have achieved this.
