CO2 reduction in a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) oxy-boiler is studied.
Two cases are analyzed: (1) an air CFB boiler adapted to operate with O2 and (2) a new boiler designed for oxycombustion.
For (1) the boiler performance adapted to operate in a similar way as in air-fired CFB is studied.
For (2) the advantages and challenges are identified for future developments.
