India's extensive coastline of about 7515 km is a potentially unique fishery resource that currently contributes to about 90% of total annual marine fish rapid country. However due to landings of the industrialization and urbanization of the adjacent cities and towns, a negative impact is often exerted on this highly productive ecosystem(Mitra, 1998). Heavy metals have the tendency to accumulate in various organs of marine organisms, especially fish, which in turn may enter into the human metabolism through consumption causing serious health hazards(Puel et al., 1987)
