Some of the educational opportunities which may serve pupils are found outside the school’s instructional programme and others exist beyond the four walls of the school. Certainly, the co-curricular activities offer opportunities for exploring pupils interests and aptitudes. Likewise many community activities offer developmental experiences for pupils. it is the responsibility of the school to identify co-curricular activities in the school and the community which offer desirable experiences for pupils. Once these activities have been explored, the school needs to recognize the functions of placement. Aiding pupils to utilize those who promise to serve the needs, and interests of individual is the responsibility of the placement worker.
The school should help pupils to relate their interests to co-curricular opportunities and to see that those activities which serve their needs and interests are made easily available to them.
