Stage 3 – From the mid-1960s to 1990, transnational corporations strengthened their control. There were mergers and acquisitions both domestically and internationally. That means that companies bought or merged with other companies to become larger and more powerful.
Additionally, there was an increase in the importance and power of non-US corporations, from countries like Japan and Western Europe. Examples include, Mitsubishi from Japan and Siemens from Germany.
