Administrators at research universities have a need for objective quantitative measures to help to evaluate and monitor research activity at the department, faculty, and university levels. While most research universities subscribe to the major citation databases Scopus and ISI, those databases do not directly support management decision making with visualization and analysis tools for functions like benchmarking and tracking of performance over time. This project will involve development of a management decision making platform that will interface directly to one or both of the two major citation databases. The project will make use of the Orchid ID standard. It will use techniques from databases and information visualization.
