Abstract
The purposes of this study were : 1) to effective the parent for canopy and yield in backcross hybrids between Jatropha curcus and J. integerima, to studied variations for canopy and yield in backcross hybrids and the selection for small canopy size and high yield in backcross hybrids. The experiment had a cross of 45 crosses, were grown under field condition at a spacing of 1×1.5 m. which were conducted in CRD. One year old plants were harvested and in 5 8 and 11 months after pruning checked for height, width and yield. The findings indicated that mother line had found to effect the height in backcross hybrids but non-effect for the width. The father line hadn’t to effect for canopy in backcross hybrids. It was found that mother line had to effect the %shelling and 100 seed weight in backcross hybrids, too. The variance of backcross hybrids had more variation in canopy and yield and selected plants by the highest is M10×C18, the lowest is K×C18, the highest yield is Cn×C14 and the lowest yield is Cn×C12. The backcross hybrids had correlated between yields and height in the same direction.
