Two ANOVAs were run, inputting Group (young vs. old) as the
independent variable and the number of landmarks correctly identified, and the number of correct turns taken, as dependent variables. The group effect emerged for landmark identification, F(1,74) 1⁄4 10.87, h2 1⁄4 0.13, p 1⁄4 0.002, the young adults being more accurate than the older group, but not in the turns taken (F < 1; p 1⁄4 0.96), where both young and older adults were very accurate in choosing which way to turn.
