STRATEGY IMPLEMENTION
Implementation is, in many ways, the most difficult part of strategic management. By comparing the current strategy identified earlier with what the strategic analysis points to as the preferred strategy, changes can be made to improve progress toward the farm’s objectives and stakeholder’s vision. To do this, implementation involves designing the structure of the organization, aligning functional strategies (such as production and marketing) with the chosen strategy for the whole farm, obtaining and directing the needed resource, and adapting the plan and implementation to the change that is inevitable. The difficulty of these tasks is compounded by the need to keep the overall vision in mind without getting immersed in and overwhelmed by the details of day-to-day operations.
