1. The machine tool should be constantly kept clean. The chips produced during machining should be removed to a place intended for that purpose after the work is finished.
2. In order to avoid injuring by chip, the personnel staying close to the machine tool should wear protective glasses with non-breaking lenses. The continuous chips should be evacuated from the machine tool by means of a metal hook having a palm guard. For that purpose the machine tool should be stopped, the chip should be untied and removed.
3. A chip container should be portable. It is recommended to apply a mechanical conveyor or a movable trolley (optional equipment).
4. The chip container should be put in and taken out by means of a crane or hoist. The hoist must be equipped with a brake protecting the load against self-acting falling in case of a drive failure.
5. The lifted chip container should be carefully fixed to a hoist hook and special attention should be paid to prevent the lifting sling from torsion.
6. For fixing chip container to the hoist hook a special lifting sling (handling equipment) should be used.
7. The chip container should be lifted and lowered smoothly and uniformly. No one is allowed to stay under the hoisted load. It is forbidden to leave the lifted load hanging. Never lift the load when the lifting sling is in oblique position.
