The transmission FTIR method is very simple, rapid and environmental
friendly. In proposed method only samples preparation
include gravimetrically mixing of fresh canola oil with 14 h used
frying canola oil for potato chips frying in different ratio.
Individual reported method for TPC, CV, CD and CT takes 30 min
to 3 h while through FTIR method results of all four parameters
could be achieved through single spectrum within 2 min. Results
of the study clearly revealed that transmission FTIR spectroscopy
in combination with PLS chemometric technique could be used
in the industries as well as analytical laboratories for simultaneous
determination of TPC, CV, CD and CT for all vegetable oils using
similar type of protocols.
