As I lay upon this earth,
and stare up upon the sky.
I wonder if I reached the end,
is it my turn now to die?
Dare I join so many I once loved?
Dare I defy?
Should I release the hold upon my heartbeat,
and to this world, say goodbye?
And so as life begins to slip away,
world melting into a lifeless black.
Slipping through my fingers, so much like the grains of sand,
and yet a long lost voice urges me back.
Colour returning all around me,
breath residing within my lungs.
My chance has disappeared again,
to join you in the heavens above.
As years go by, the anger's gone,
but the pain will always remain.
Immortal to all weaponry,
inside my heart, deeply contained.
Seeking solance in the stars,
and upon the silver moon.
I know it was you who brought me back,
because inside I knew it was too soon.
Calm and gentle, the war rages no more,
and no longer lives the hate.
The rest of my days are meant for living,
so you and death will just have to wait.
