In October '14 I ended up with an injury two days after completing a half marathon, saw a doctor and he thought it was just a sprained hip flexor, few weeks later I ran the Great South Run and ended up practically walking for the last 8 miles. Got referred to a specialist and had xray plus MRI with contrast in my hip. Turned out I'd torn my iliofemoral ligament and partially tore my rectus femoris. Started physio in January and 7 months on I'm only allowed to do 2.5 minutes running and 1.5 minutes walking intervals for 30 minutes. This is fine but anything I do that involves side to side movement such as racketball leaves me with intense pain the following day. Physio says I just need to take small steps and gradually build up, I trust my physio 100% and think he's doing a good job but has anyone else experienced this injury and is there any light at the end of the tunnel. I've not had surgery as consultant felt physio would fix it and didn't want to operate if it wasn't needed.
