A burglary took place last week between 12 noon and 1 pm while the residents were swimming in the club house pool. The perpetrator gained entry through an open bath room window at the rear of the house and left through the sliding sitting room doors.
This is the second day-time burglary in 6 months. On both occasions the perpetrator gained entry through an open window. On the first occasion the residents were in there own garden when the burglary occurred.
We cannot say that these burglaries were carried out by the same person however there are a number of similarities. Both were daytime burglaries, entry was through open windows, residents were not inside the house at the time and there was a degree of prior knowledge.
We strongly recommend that residents do not leave windows open when the property is unattended even for a very short time. Residents should also consider installing alarm systems or other measures to deter burglars.
