to sound pressure levels (in dB(A)) (Pfafflin and Ziegler, 2006).
Sound pressure levels are higher for the CS (Fig. 2a,b). Although both
sites have a minimum sound pressure level around 62 dB(A), the
maximum value of the CS is 87.5 dB(A), as opposed to 77.1 dB(A) for TS.
Overall, the acoustic environment is rather poor for both areas, with
equivalent sound pressure levels of 78.6 dB(A) and 68.9 dB(A), for the
CS and TS, respectively. These values represent the noisy activities
taking place (construction activities/heavy machinery in the former,
high level of vehicular traffic and buses particularly in the latter).
