The observed linearity in the concentration rage from 0.250 to
15.0 m g/L, equivalent to a range from 0.125 to 7.5 m g/kg in sample,
was estimated through the regression coefficient (R 2 ), found to be
over 0.999 for each sample batch. The determined LOD and LOQ,
based on signal-to-noise approach of the lowest standard, were 5.0
and 14.0 ng/kg, respectively. The reference material testing
revealed accuracy values from 70.9 % to 79.1 % with demonstrated
precision, expressed as RSD, between 2 and 3%. The determined
AFB 1 method performance characteristics were fully in line with
the respective mycotoxin regulation requirements (EC, 2006a). By
participation in FAPAS proficiency testing scheme 04116, the ob-
tained z-score was 0.1, confirming the satisfactory laboratory
performance.
