Table 4, shows effects of various treatments of rice straw on voluntary feed intake and nutrient digestibility in beef cattle. The results of this experiment using 50 g/kg urea, 20 g/kg urea + 20 g/kg Ca(OH)2 and 30 g/kg urea + 20 g/kg Ca(OH)2 for the straw treatment can significantly (p < 0.05) enhance DM intake and digestibility. Apparent digestibility of DM, OM, CP, NDF and ADF in the 30 g/kg urea + 20 g/kg Ca (OH)2-treated rice straw was the highest (p < 0.05), followed by the 50 g/kg urea-treated rice straw, 20 g/ kg urea + 20 g/kg Ca(OH)2-treated rice straw and untreated rice straw respectively.
