I hc results of this study give support to previous studies suggesting that disability- and performance-based instruments measure different constructs. Although a performance-based test of function remained in the final model as the most important predictor of WHO- DAS 2.0 total score and domain scores, other variables (in particular, depressive symptoms and pain) also contributed to explaining WHODAS scores. The results provide support for studies examining interventions aimed at improving lower extremity performance and depressive symptoms to determine if these interventions improve self-reported disability. In addition, our results appear to give some support to the claim that performance- based measures of function might be better at identifying early signs of functional decline
