Occupational therapy. The first focus group for
OTs was held at the education centre within the
hospital over a lunch time, and was attended by
12 members of staff on varying grades. It lasted
for 40 minutes and a tour of the library was
offered after the focus group, which appeared to
be well-received. The group was recorded and
notes taken. This group was notable as about half
of the attendees were quite vocal and participated
fully, whilst the others were much quieter. Despite
the facilitators efforts the quiet group tended to
reply with single-word closed answers. The degree
of participation did not seem to necessarily correlate
to seniority within the department.
