As Izark is now awake to his power he is able to send Noriko home... they decide on just her diary. This seemed like a weak event. Throughout the book Noriko only mentions her family 3 times. They may have been on her mind, but it wasn't like she was desperately pining to go home. I know this probably tied up loose ends (and definitely explained the title beautifully), and I certainly was concerned that it was going to end like Escaflowne with Noriko deciding to go home... Her old life was essentially forgotten the second she came to this new world -- Hikawa didn't need to remind us of it. What should have happened (or I was expecting to happen) was a grand gesture of love. I don't know... I guess I was hoping for just a little bit more of something.
